City concept. Used pieces of various Italian villages to create a new composition and then using overpaint and compositing techniques. This is one of the first full on landscapes I've created in a very long time, and certainly the first with this much detail. This semester in Concept design was one I was dreading as the projects were all based on my weakness...environments, large scale light and shadow, technical drawing and vehicles. I've never been fan. I've always been a character guy (that's next semester's focus). I'm happy with it as a painting but as a concept not so much. It lacks a pointed focal point and light source and would look more dramatic with cast shadows. It's styled on the art of Alberto Mialgo. I am happy with how the water turned out, as well as the mountain range....the buildings need polish.

More fun with Zbrush.

Things are picking up with Zbrush. Feel a lot more control than I started and it's creating a lot more efficiency and effectiveness. I'm starting to be able to much more easily translate my style from the page onto the sculpt. It's fun as hell.

ZBrush.

Just started learning a new piece of software. It's as close as you can get to having actual clay in your hand. Their artist results are ridiculous. The fine people at Pixologic have blown my mind.

I do not consider myself a natural modeler when it comes to Maya or 3DSMax. It just doesn't come with a great sense of intuition to me. Some of the whipper snappers in my classes are impressing me on a daily basis in that regard. I'm getting it, but it isn't necessarily my particular cup of tea.

Zbrush on the other hand....my cup of tea.

We were required to find a bald man for our first project. I chose Walter White, Bryan Cranston's chracter from breaking bad.
